Most flat-pack furniture includes the fixings and a basic Allen key, but a power drill with a Phillips bit speeds up the process significantly versus hand-tightening dozens of screws, and a rubber mallet helps seat tight dowel joints without damaging the wood.

What Actually Comes Flat-Packed at Furnecia

Sliding wardrobes, beds, sofas, corner sofas, sofa beds, and dining sets are all delivered flat-packed and need self-assembly. Hinged wardrobes (1 to 8 door) are the exception — these arrive fully assembled by default, with flat-pack available on request if you'd prefer it for tighter access.

Realistic Time Expectations

Smaller items like bedside tables or dining chairs typically take 20–30 minutes each. Bed frames and standard sofas usually take an hour or more. Larger items — corner sofas, sliding wardrobes, larger dining tables — can take two hours or more and are genuinely easier with a second person given the size and weight of the panels involved.

Before You Start

Unpack everything first and check the parts against the instructions — finding a missing piece halfway through is far more frustrating than catching it at the start. Work in the room the furniture will end up in where possible, since moving a partially assembled piece is difficult.

Don't fully tighten fixings as you go — leave everything slightly loose until the full frame is together, then tighten at the end. This makes it much easier to correct small misalignments before they're locked in place.
