Payment & Cash on Delivery

How do I pay for my order?
Furnecia is Cash on Delivery (COD) only. You place your order online without entering any card details, and pay in cash when your furniture is physically delivered to your door.

Is Cash on Delivery safe?
Yes. You'll receive an official order confirmation by email as soon as you place your order, and our delivery driver will provide a receipt when you pay. Nothing is charged before your furniture arrives — which means you never hand over card details to a website, and you can see exactly what you're paying for before any money changes hands.

Do you take card, PayPal or bank transfer?
Not currently. Cash on Delivery is our only online payment method, UK-wide.

Do I pay anything upfront?
No. There's no deposit and no upfront payment. You pay the full amount on delivery.

Are there any hidden charges?
No. The price you see at checkout includes your item and any applicable delivery charge for your region. Optional extras such as fitting services are shown clearly at checkout before you order.

Finance & Payment Plans

Does Furnecia offer finance?
Yes — finance is available on sofas and wardrobes, typically from around £25 to £50 per month depending on the item and plan agreed. It's arranged only through our Huddersfield showroom, not at online checkout. Book an appointment and our team will confirm the exact monthly figure for the piece you want.

Why isn't finance available online?
We deliberately keep finance as a face-to-face conversation. It means you get a proper explanation of the terms, can ask questions directly, and there's no risk of misunderstanding a plan you signed up to on a screen. Online orders stay simple and transparent: Cash on Delivery, no card details, no credit checks.

How do I apply for furniture finance?
Book a showroom appointment and our team will go through eligibility, terms and repayment options with you on the day.

Can I browse online first and arrange finance in person?
Yes — many customers do exactly this. Have a look through the range online, then bring your shortlist to your appointment to discuss finance and see the pieces in person.

Can I still use Cash on Delivery if I don't want finance?
Absolutely — Cash on Delivery remains available to everyone, whether or not you've visited the showroom.

Can I get finance with bad credit or no credit history?
Eligibility is assessed individually at your showroom appointment rather than through an automated online check — it's worth booking a visit to find out what's available to you.

Do I need a guarantor for furniture finance?
This depends on the plan discussed at your appointment. Our showroom team will confirm what's needed based on your circumstances.

Can students apply for furniture finance?
Yes — eligibility is assessed individually, so it's best to book a showroom appointment and discuss your situation directly with our team.

What should I do if I'm struggling to make a finance payment?
Contact us as soon as possible — speak to our showroom team directly rather than waiting, so we can talk through your options.

Delivery

How much is delivery?
Delivery is free across England. Wales is a flat £20 and Scotland is a flat £30.

Do you deliver to Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland?
Not at present. We currently deliver to England, Wales and Scotland only.

How long does delivery take?
Delivery times vary by product and your location. Your confirmation email will include the expected timeframe, and we'll contact you to arrange a delivery day.

Will you deliver into the room I want?
Our drivers will deliver your furniture to your property. If you need items carried to a specific room or upstairs, please let us know in advance so we can plan for it.

What does my delivery time window mean?
We'll agree a delivery day with you in advance and give you a time window rather than an exact minute — this is standard practice for two-person furniture deliveries. We'll call ahead when the driver is on route.

Should I check my furniture before signing for delivery?
Yes — it only takes a minute to check the packaging looks intact before you sign. If you spot visible damage, note it when you sign and contact us straight away so we can sort it quickly.

Can I refuse a delivery if the item looks damaged?
Yes — if the packaging or item looks visibly damaged when it arrives, you're welcome to refuse it. Contact us straight away and we'll arrange a replacement.

What if the delivery team can't access my street?
Let us know about narrow streets, restricted access or parking issues when you book your delivery slot, and we'll do our best to plan around it. Contact us in advance if you're unsure whether access will be a problem.

What if part of my order is missing when it arrives — e.g. a cushion or fitting?
Contact us with your order number and we'll send the missing part out — no need to return the whole item.

What happens if my furniture is delivered to the wrong address?
Contact us immediately with your order number and we'll investigate and arrange redelivery as quickly as possible.

What happens if my delivery is delayed?
We'll keep you updated if a delivery date needs to shift. If your delivery is significantly delayed, contact us and we'll give you a clear update on timing.

Can I choose a specific delivery day?
We'll contact you after ordering to agree a delivery day that works for you, based on availability for your area.

Do I need to be home for delivery?
Yes — someone needs to be present to receive and sign for the delivery, and to pay if you haven't already.

Assembly

Do your wardrobes come assembled?
It depends on the type. Hinged wardrobes (1–8 door) are delivered fully assembled as standard — flat-pack is available on request if that suits you better. Sliding door wardrobes are always delivered unassembled, with a fitting service available at checkout.

Which items come fully assembled?
Hinged wardrobes, armchairs, chest of drawers and bedside tables are all delivered fully assembled.

Which items need assembly?
Sliding wardrobes, sofas, corner sofas, sofa beds, beds and dining sets are delivered unassembled. A fitting service is available at checkout for sliding wardrobes, sofas and corner sofas.

Can I book someone to assemble it for me?
Yes — where a fitting service is available for your item, you can add it during checkout.

Flat-pack or pre-assembled — which should I choose?
Pre-assembled saves you the time and effort of building it yourself and is our default for hinged wardrobes. Flat-pack can be easier to get up narrow staircases or through tight doorways in sections — if access is a concern, request flat-pack and we'll pack it accordingly.

What if my flat-pack item arrives with a part missing?
Contact us with your order number and we'll sort out the missing part — you won't need to return the whole item.

Fabric & Materials

Velvet or chenille — which is better for a sofa?
Velvet has a soft, luxurious look and feel but can show marks more easily. Chenille is generally more hard-wearing and family-friendly while still feeling soft. If you have kids or pets, chenille is usually the safer everyday choice.

What's the difference between faux leather and real leather?
Faux leather is more affordable, easier to clean and doesn't crack the way real leather can over time. Real leather develops a natural patina and tends to last longer if well cared for, but costs more and needs more maintenance.

What is rub count and why does it matter?
Rub count measures how many times a fabric can be rubbed before it starts to show wear — a rough guide to durability. Higher rub counts suit heavy daily use; check the individual product page for the fabric details on your chosen sofa.

What's the best sofa fabric for homes with pets or kids?
Look for tightly woven, stain-resistant fabrics such as chenille or performance weave over delicate options like velvet or linen, which mark more easily.

Measuring & Fit

How do I measure a room for a sofa?
Measure the length and width of the space where the sofa will sit, then check doorways, hallways and any staircases the sofa needs to pass through — including turning space on tight corners.

What is "diagonal depth" and why does it matter?
Diagonal depth is the measurement taken corner-to-corner through a doorway or stairwell, which is often larger than the straight width or height alone. It's the measurement that decides whether a large sofa or wardrobe will actually get through — don't rely on width and height alone.

How much clearance do I need around a sofa for walking space?
Aim for at least 60–90cm of clear walking space around a sofa so the room doesn't feel cramped and people can move past comfortably.

Choosing the Right Furniture

What does "ex-display" mean?
Ex-display items are pieces previously used to showcase a product in-store. Furnecia's online range is new stock — if you're interested in ex-display pieces, ask at the Huddersfield showroom.

Should I buy a sofa without sitting on it first?
Many customers do buy online successfully by checking dimensions, fabric details and reviews carefully. If comfort testing matters to you, our Huddersfield showroom lets you try before you buy.

How do I check a sofa's fire safety compliance?
All furniture sold by Furnecia meets UK fire safety regulations. Look for the fire safety label attached to the product — it confirms the fabric and fillings meet legal requirements.

Returns & Problems

What is your returns policy?
You have 30 days. If something isn't right, you choose — a full refund or a free replacement. It's your call, not ours.

What if my furniture arrives damaged?
Contact us as soon as you notice. Under our 30-day policy you can choose a full refund or a free replacement.

What if I change my mind?
Our 30-day returns policy covers you. Get in touch and we'll arrange it.

Products & Ordering

How do I know the furniture will fit?
Every product page lists full dimensions. We'd always recommend measuring your space first — our guides on measuring for a wardrobe and measuring for a corner sofa walk you through it.

Can I see furniture in person before buying?
Yes — we have a showroom in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. You can book an appointment to visit, browse in person, and discuss finance options if you'd like them.

Do you sell mattresses in all UK sizes?
Yes — Single, Double, King and Super King across our memory foam, pocket sprung and hybrid ranges. See our UK mattress sizes guide for exact dimensions.

How many wardrobe doors do I need?
We stock 1 to 8 door hinged wardrobes — one of the widest door-count ranges in the UK. Our guide on how many wardrobe doors you actually need helps you decide.
